Factors of 10: $5,000 and growing

When Dr. Jean Wilcox, assistant professor of marketing
in
the Fox School, introduced her “10-10-10” plan to two sections of her
Entrepreneurial Marketing class at the beginning of the spring semester,
she
had no idea how it would play out.
“The object, originally, was there’d be 10 teams.
They’d
each get $10. And they would have to multiply it by a factor of 10,”
Wilcox
said, adding two more stipulations: The money raised “had to be for
social good
somehow – a charity or community activity.” Wilcox’s students
officially raised $5,365.70, but with donations continuing to trickle
in, the two
classes will likely surpass the $5,500 mark.
