Factors of 10: $5,000 and growing

When Dr. Jean Wilcox, assistant professor of marketing in the Fox School, introduced her “10-10-10” plan to two sections of her Entrepreneurial Marketing class at the beginning of the spring semester, she had no idea how it would play out.

“The object, originally, was there’d be 10 teams. They’d each get $10. And they would have to multiply it by a factor of 10,” Wilcox said, adding two more stipulations: The money raised “had to be for social good somehow – a charity or community activity.” Wilcox’s students officially raised $5,365.70, but with donations continuing to trickle in, the two classes will likely surpass the $5,500 mark.
