Constructive Criticism
Resume
critiques and mock interviews attract major companies

Each semester, the Center for Student Professional
Development hosts Employer Resume Critiques and Industry Prep Interviews to
prepare students for the campus-recruiting season.
The resume critique session is just one component Fox
undergrads must complete to be “CSPD’d.” Prior to the resume critique, students
participate in a CSPD “Getting Started” and “Resume Development” workshop. The
critique is the final step in the process.
The CSPD staff thanks the following employers for participating
in employer resume critiques during the Spring 2010 semester: Briggs, Bunting
and Dougherty, Cigna, Cintas, Enterprise, First Financial, General Mills,
JPMorgan Chase, Lincoln Financial Group, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network,
ParenteBeard, SMART, Target, The Citco Group and Wawa. Over the course of two
weeks, these employers met with close to 200 students.
During the Fall 2009
semester, CSPD hosted six Industry Prep Interview schedules. Thanks to Cigna,
Cintas, Comcast, Enterprise, JPMorgan Chase and Northwestern Mutual Financial
Network for participating.
Resume critiques and mock
interviews are great opportunities to build name recognition among Fox students
and to meet potential candidates. CSPD is experimenting with video cameras to
film the mock interviews so students have the opportunity to review them. Thanks
to Comcast and Northwestern Mutual for being trial companies in testing the
cameras.
