The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) Philadelphia held a free career development event at the Fox School’s Alter Hall on Oct. 6. Sponsored by Campbell’s, Merck and Vanguard, the evening featured representatives from each sponsoring company and included activities such as panel discussions, resume reviews, mock interviews, networking opportunities and an overview of NSHMBA’s National Conference.

NSHMBA is a nonprofit organization that works to foster Hispanic leadership in the U.S. and to increase cultural awareness and sensitivity in today’s diverse workforce. With 32 chapters and 8,000 members in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, the society is known as the nation’s “Premier Hispanic Organization.”

“NSHMBA Philadelphia’s goal is to bring talented Latino professionals and MBAs together with top hiring companies in the Philadelphia area to enhance their career opportunities and prepare them well for the hiring process,” said Orna Wiseman, president of NSHMBA Philadelphia.

Working with the Fox School in years past but never having held an event on Temple’s campus before, NSHMBA accepted the Fox School’s offer to host the precursor to the society’s National Conference, which runs from Oct. 21 through Oct. 23 in Chicago.
